Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently led a delegation to Istanbul, Turkey, to engage in strategic discussions with executives from Summa International Construction Inc. regarding the Lekki-Epe Airport project.
In an official statement shared via his X.com account, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the purpose of the meeting, which was to explore a potential partnership aimed at advancing the development of the Lekki-Epe International Airport.
“I had the opportunity to lead a team on a working visit to Istanbul, where we held talks with key executives of Summa Group, a prominent player in the global construction industry,” the statement read. “Our discussions centered around the vision for Lekki-Epe International Airport, a project that will greatly enhance connectivity in Lagos and reduce the pressure on Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”
During the visit, the Governor and his team were given an extensive tour of Summa’s infrastructure projects by the company’s Chairman, Mr. Selim Bora, who demonstrated the firm’s capabilities and commitment to high-quality construction.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that a collaboration on this project could have far-reaching economic benefits, including job creation and positioning Lagos as a major hub for international travel and trade. “We are optimistic about the transformative potential this project holds for Lagos and its economy,” he concluded.
